SEPS Rental to Western Power Distribution

South East Powerline Services recently assisted with the provision of an insulated MEWP with material handler to Western Power Distribution in Redruth, Cornwall.

In the late afternoon we received a call from a representative from Western Power Distribution, who are a distribution network operator in the South West of England trying to source an insulated MEWP with a material handler. The representative informed us that their own machine had a major breakdown and as such would require a vehicle for approximately 1 month urgently. Without such a vehicle a busy schedule of power outages would have to be cancelled at great expense.

We informed Western Power Distribution about our Mercedes Artego 4×4 with Versalift VST240MHI, having an upwards reach of 14.8 meters and an outreach of 9.5 meters as well as being able to lift upto 363kg using a jib attached to the MEWP bucket.

They agreed and we transported the machine the following day, so that they did not have to cancel any of their jobs. One month later we picked up the machine.

The representative for Western Power Distribution said, “The machine was excellent and far exceeded what we thought we were getting. To cancel our operations would have cost thousands and to have the machine within 24 hours of our call was a godsend”.

The following month, we saw 2 additional rentals to Western Power Distribution in other locations.
