SEPS Acquisiton of U5000 Unimog with Versalift VST240mhi

SEPS have added a Unimog U5000 with a Versalift VST240MHI MEWP to their fleet. After we purchased the vehicle, we have carried out extensive refurbishment works to both the vehicle and the hoist, in order to bring the machine to the required standard as requested by our clients.

Service Manager Mick Chapman said about the recent acquisition “The Unimog U5000 will be a valuable asset to our fleet but will be a challenging rebuild to bring up to full spec”.

We started by removing the hoist from the vehicle and the floor plates, after this we were able to work out what section would need repair and what would need new parts.

Sections of the sub frame to the hoist were removed from the chassis and others would require to go under repair. Some sections were sent off to be remade.

After this, the vehicle was sent away for shotblasting and painting, including the vehicle, chassis, cab and sub frame.

During which, the hoist was stripped down and all of the internal parts that were salvageable were shotblasted and repainted, whilst the hydraulics such as hoses were replaced and cylinders were resealed.

After this floorplates and lockers have been installed and electrics are currently being completed, ready for a March 2016 completion.
